Get Your Bearings

Points of DifferencePoints of Difference

  • Wine & Dine
    • The Pointe Restaurant was voted by Vancouver Magazine as the best Dining experience in BC for 2008 and voted Best Resort Dining in BC for three years running.
    • Chef John Waller and Nicholas Nutting invite you to savour their interpretations of Pacific West Coast Cuisine in the awe inspiring environment of our ocean front dining room - world class cuisine with panoramic Pacific Ocean views, what more could you ask for?
    • Celebrate fresh air and fresh seafood with an authentic Crab Cookout right on the beach through July and August.
    • Champagne Sunday Brunch? Yes please. Prepared by our Executive and Restaurant Chefs, Sunday Brunch promises to be hugely popular. In fact, we recommend reservations for parties of 5 or more.
    • The Pointe Restaurant has added "peace of mind" to their menu by offering our guests complimentary babysitting for children under 12 years of age.
  • Ways to Explore
    • Please, allow us to take care of that for you with our complimentary Clefs d'Or Concierge Services.
    • If you go out in the woods today you're sure for a big surprise - enjoy complimentary Nature Hikes guided by premiere naturalists every Saturday.
    • Experience a complimentary art tour every Sunday, followed by a visit to the carving shed where artistic inspiration is brought to life.
    • Ride, ride, ride your bike gently down the trail with seasonal complimentary bicycle use for all our guests. (from May 1st through September 30th)
    • From sports coups to luxury "utes" the Lexus Test Drive program, offered exclusively at The Wickeninnish, is a first for Canada.
  • West Coast Through and Through
    • Inspired by the beauty of it all, The Wickaninnish is a family owned destination operated by the McDiarmid family who have called Tofino home since 1955.
    • It should come as no surprise that one of the finest inns on the west coast of North America is also home to one of the finest collections of regional art.
    • From big to small, every detail at the Wick is distinctly west coast including custom designed furniture that's created right here in British Columbia.
    • Henry's Carving Shed offers a unique opportunity to meet local artists Joe Martin - the foremost Canoe Carver in Canada, Lyne des Rosiers - a wonderful artist who carves masks, bowls, totem poles, talking sticks, and bentwood boxes in a first nations style and Feather George - best known for crafting wonderful yellow cedar feathers inlaid with abalone.
  • Wellness
    • Readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine, one of the most authoritative voices in the luxury travel industry, voted Ancient Cedars Spa the best resort spa in the world for 2008.
    • Get your feet wet at Ancient Cedars Spa with a complimentary foot soak included with every treatment.
  • Wonderful by Design
    • Resting on the flank of the longest beach outside of the Pacific Rim National Park, we are the only resort with direct access Chesterman Beach's 2.5km of spectacular hard packed sand.
    • A bonfire under stars, the quintessential way to end the day on the Beach and the Wick just happens to be is positioned perfectly beside the only two beaches where fires are allowed - Chesterman and MacKenzie.
    • The Wick's unique location creates a wonderfully warm microclimate around the inn. How? 100 acres of Ancient Old Growth Forest in our backyard protects us from the prevailing summer winds while Chesterman Beach offers south facing exposure in our spectacular front yard - the Pacific Ocean.
    • Perched on the point, every guestroom and all our common spaces, offer breathtaking vistas. All you have to do is choose an ocean or beach view.
    • A room with a view is one thing, a soaker tub with a view is quite another. All our rooms feature deep soaker tubs and most of them are positioned perfectly for two to enjoy the view.
    • Despite the perception our wild and wonderful location creates, the "real world" is out there so we offer our guests complimentary Internet throughout the hotel should they need to connect.
    • Sitting in our great room overlooking the white-capped breakers, you'll understand how we became the premiere (not to mention the first) Storm Watching destination on the west coast of North America.
    • The Wick has got a secret, well two actually. The first is our secluded White Shell Beach that can be booked for small groups and private gatherings and the other is our Rainforest Beach Loop Trail that meanders through the surrounding old growth forest and down to Chesterman Beach.
  • We're at Your Service
    • When you arrive at the Wick we want you to leave your worries behind, including you car, that's why we offer complimentary valet parking.
    • As the economy receded we continued to exceed the expectations of our guests by expanding our commitment to outstanding service and unceasing quality by adding Bone China in our Salal Room, an Art Tour on Sundays, and the addition of a Satva Wind Chime by local artist Marcel Zobel.
    • We've worked out every little detail in our new and spacious Fitness Center right down to the distressed Vancouver Island Maple floors and windows overlooking Chesterman Beach.
    • Our guests: 1, The Wickaninnish Inn: 1. With a guest-to-staff ratio of 1:1 there is always a courteous, professional, and well-trained employee at your service.
    • Allow yourself to be swept away on your special day without leaving anything to chance. Our Elopement Coordinator or Special Events Manager can orchestrate an unforgettable experience that's custom tailored to your needs and as spontaneous and exciting as your love.
