What is the O'Neill Coldwater Classic Series?

This World Qualifying Series (WQS), sanctioned by the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) has ranked international surfers vying for the top spot across five coldwater surf competitions, traveling to remote and spectacularly beautiful destinations in Scotland, Tasmania, South Africa, and to our own Tofino surf. The winner of this very first O'Neill Coldwater Classic Series will be crowned at the final event in Santa Cruz, California in November with a $50,000 USD purse.

What makes coldwater surfing so interesting is the added challenge of extreme weather conditions - as we'll be right on the cusp of the Tofino winter storm watching season- and extra equipment (a nice, thick neoprene wetsuit, gloves and boots) to surfers who excel in conditions that are typically less complex, not to mention a little warmer!
