Annual Wickaninnish Inn Closure
This year marks an extra special annual closure as we update our 45 Pointe building rooms. We appreciate your patience as we take this time to buff, primp, and prime the Wickaninnish Inn, ready to welcome you back at 4pm on February 10th, 2012.
Pacific Rim Whale Festival Gala Dinner and Silent Auction
Chef Nick Nutting and the kitchen brigade cook up some magic, as wine pairings and tempting silent auction items complement the evening for this 14th annual fundraising (and fun-raising) event. 100% of the ticket cost and silent auction proceeds support the volunteer-fueled Whale Festival, now in its 26th year! Tickets for the dinner and wine pairing are an amazingly great value at $110/person. The results will be announced at the Whale Festival Opening Ceremonies on March 17th! Pacific Rim Whale Festival
It's a whale of a time during the 22nd annual Festival, celebrating the migration of 20 000 Pacific Grey Whales past our shores on their journey from Baja to Alaska. The Inn is pleased to sponsor for the Festival, offering over many events for the young and young at heart, from a plethora of whale sightings to hands-on education about whales and the traditions of the Nuu-chah-nulth people of the West Coast. Born to be Wild Week-end!
Join us in meeting special animal friends and in supporting the Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society, as we learn about their efforts to salvage wildlife. This March, meet a winged friend and learn with Reg Westcott about bird habitat, conservation, and shorebirds in our Salal Room in Wickaninnish-at-the-Pointe.
Admission is by suggested donation of $5 to M.A.R.S.

The MUP Clean-Up for Earth Day
An initiative of the Wickaninnish Inn Green Team, Tofino residents and visitors join forces today to clean up, clear and green the beloved MUP (multi-use path) than runs for a few kilometres from the Tofino Visitor Centre by Cox Bay to Tofino. We will be clearing the portion closest to the Inn - see you there!
15th Annual Shorebird Festival
Come birdwatching with the guidance of seasoned birders, learn how to better photograph birds and wildlife, enjoy a walk on the Tofino Mudflats and more- with the help of Tofino's Raincoast Education Society in this annual event! www.raincoasteducation.org
Mother's Day Brunch
Flowers and chocolate are okaaay, but why not treat her (and yourself!) to our annual Mother's Day Brunch, at the Pointe Restaurant from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Walk-ins welcome. Parties of five or more please call 250-725-3106 for reservations.
Visit Clayoquot/Stubbs Island
Did you know that the Clayoquot Island Preserve (just to the left of the First Street Dock) was the original trading post of Tofino? Every Victoria Day week-end, its owners invite the public to enjoy this 25 acre island, with whimsical gardens and perfect beaches in an idyllic "living off the grid" scenario. Tofino Public Market
Make your way to the Village Green (Campbell & 3rd Street) every Saturday and explore our market. You will find beautiful photographs, unique crafts, and a variety of creations, all while meeting some of our colourful local residents. For updates, visit the market website here.
Tofino Food and Wine Festival
An eclectic community makes for a delicious combination of people and flavours on this lauded week-end in June. The Wickaninnish Inn hosts a multi-course opening dinner with a guest BC winemaker, and the week-end continues with a series of delectable events. Visit www.tofinofoodandwinefestival.com.
Edge2Edge Marathon
Run the natural course between Tofino and Ucluelet in this annual event, and Boston Marathon Qualifier Course, attracting visitors from across the continent! Runners participate in the full or half marathon segments or team relay course. www.edgetoedgemarathon.com
Pacific Rim Summer Festival
This (24th!) annual event celebrates entertainment throughout Tofino, the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and Ucluelet with everything from dance, foreign films, live music, and even spoken word. Find more info on the Pacific Rim Arts Society website.
Ukee Days
Drive down Highway 4 to our neighbouring coastal community of Ucluelet for some small-town fun, including the ever-popular logger sports competition.
Tofino Lantern Festival
We love this magical night, when creatively handmade lanterns adorn the winding paths of the Tofino Botanical Gardens. Past guests have even made their lanterns at home for this special event, which is the largest annual fundraiser for the local Raincoast Education Society.
10th Annual Wickaninnish Inn Pro-Am Golf Tournament
Every year, we play the scenic Long Beach Golf Course with a number of golf pros traveling from throughout BC for this special event. All proceeds go toward the Ucluelet Secondary School's athletics program - including golf, of course! To date, over $100,000 has been raised for our local students.
