(Tofino, BC) Scheduled to hit newsstands on May 8, the second annual edition of Robb Report Luxury Resorts magazine offers an in-depth look at the world’s 100 most exclusive destinations. As selected by the editors of Robb Report, this unprecedented collection of resorts spans more than 35 countries on six continents. For the first time, The Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, B.C. has been featured in this exclusive list, being recognized as one of the best spots in the world for the affluent to vacation.
The editors of Robb Report, the magazine better known as the luxury lifestyle authority, evaluated properties for their Luxury Resorts edition based on location, service, architecture, amenities, and more. “Each of the destinations selected for Luxury Resorts delivers an experience that is unique to the property’s setting,” says Editor Bruce Wallin. “But all of the resorts share the common traits of exceptional service and amenities befitting of the most discriminating travelers.”
When the Wickaninnish Inn (www.wickinn.com ) opened its doors eleven years ago, welcoming visitors to the rugged West Coast of Vancouver Island, the goal of the opening team was to create the “best hotel on the west coast of North America, from the Baja to Alaska”. Recognition from Robb Report Editors affirms that the team has achieved that goal. “We are honoured to have our name associated with a prestigious magazine like Robb Report.” says Charles McDiarmid, Managing Director of the Wickaninnish Inn. McDiarmid goes on to say “The Robb Report editors are always looking for the services and locations they know their discerning readers will appreciate.“
The team at the Wickaninnish Inn is pleased to share this top 100 honour with other Canadian properties including the Four Seasons Resort in Whistler and the Hôtel Quintessence in Mont-Tremblant, north of Montreal. Other Relais and Châteaux properties being singled out as Robb Report’s “must see” locations are Rancho Valencia Resort in Rancho Santa Fe, California (www.ranchovalencia.com) and The Point (www.thepointresort.com) in upstate New York.
