… and a very happy (belated) 2019 to you!

The year has blown in with several powerful storms and a number of brilliantly crisp sunny days here on the coast—the unusual as usual!

Our annual closure started with the new year and gave us some time to make a few changes for you. Upon reopening next month (on February 1st) guests will enjoy two new sparkling and still water refill stations (the Vi Tap) by Vivreau which we have installed in each lobby to reduce single-use bottled water and plastics. This is a great step in enabling people to make choices that are better for the environment, an important part of how we work here.

Howard’s Wine Cellar, something we’ve been working on all year—and anticipating even longer!—will also be open. This has been a personal goal of mine, and I’m thrilled to see it come to fruition in such incredible form.

Among our additions come two very welcome members to our team: Annette Rawlinson as Restaurant Manager (since beginning of December) and Chef Carmen Ingham as Executive Chef at The Pointe Restaurant. With diverse backgrounds and impressive experience, Annette and Chef Carmen join Ike Seaman, our Food and Beverage Director, in our commitment to developing culinary experiences like no other. The opportunity to collaborate with such passionate professionals over the years keeps giving us new ways to see this wonderful place we call home. I look forward to seeing how this dynamic team will foster the next step forward.

Lastly, with our extensive deep cleaning program, fresh coats of paint and many other small touches, we feel freshened up and prepared for a great 2019. It’s wonderful to take the time needed to pursue perfection, but it’s even better when we get to share them with our community and guests. We look forward to seeing you!
