Welcome spring!
The temperatures are still crisp, but the longer and sunnier days are beginning to draw us outside more and more. It’s always green and lush on the west coast, and now we are starting to see purple crocuses and yellow dandelions sprouting, dotting the landscape with their colours. And while the onset of spring and new buds can feel sudden after the moody months of hibernation, we know nature has been hard at work all winter long to produce this season’s bounty.
Similarly, at the Inn, we are ready to show off the changes we’ve made during our annual closure in January/February. There has been no rest this year as the next evolution of our vision continues to come to fruition. Along with renovations to our On the Rocks Bar and The Pointe Restaurant, we are reconstructing our Salal Room to become a more dynamic multi-functional space (coming in April), and expanding by building the exceptional Howard's Wine Cellar (coming in May).
But not everything is new: spring brings the return of friends and annual celebrations alike. In Tofino and Ucluelet, the Pacific Rim Whale Festival is celebrating its 32nd year! Sightings of grey whales and humpbacks—even from our windows!—have begun as they migrate back to our coast for the warm months ahead. It’s always a fantastic occasion and a sure marker in the community that the new season has arrived.
The world is awakening here on the coast, and, whether your next visit here is on a return or new adventure, it’s an exciting place to be!
