Every spring beginning in late April, right through May, we celebrate The Tofino Shorebird Festival, when over 40 species of shorebirds make their way to the Tofino area during their annual migration. Finding the perfect stop on their impressive migratory journey from South and Central America to their breeding grounds in the Arctic, our protected temperate rainforests, wide-ranging mudflats, and long sandy beaches are ideal regional habitats for these seasoned travellers.
