We are thrilled to once again receive the coveted 5 Green Keys, which we have successfully accomplished each year since first achieving this milestone. With over 5,000 hotels and establishments across 60+ countries, attaining this prestigious certification underscores our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable operations.

Operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education, the Green Key Global program offers a comprehensive framework for sustainable practices, empowering businesses in the hospitality industry to minimize their environmental footprint and encourage responsible tourism. Through stringent certification criteria, ongoing support, and rigorous auditing processes, Green Key Global helps businesses enhance their sustainability efforts and assures guests that they are helping to make a difference for the environment by visiting a Green Key accredited site.

Green Key Global was the first accreditation of its kind that the Inn pursued. Initially rated at 3 Green Keys, we gained the ability to measure our commitments with very granular, industry-specific targets alongside an action plan to achieve them. Claire Macdonald, a long-time Marketing Manager, took over our Green Key program in 2008 and brought us to 5 Green Keys for the first time in 2012. This achievement not only made us the second property in B.C. to attain the rating, but also the first property in the province to do so post-construction.

Since then, the work of our Sustainability Committee and the daily contributions of our entire team have been instrumental in propelling us forward. From examining our seafood sources to ensuring low-VOC paints are being used throughout the property, no corner of the Inn is left untouched. The journey is never complete, and what lies ahead continues to inspire us. With renewed enthusiasm, we are committed to building upon our momentum this year, cultivating new ideas, and striving for excellence across all areas of sustainable practices.
