R&C Spotlight: Spectacular Suites
Article Information & Social Sharing
There’s an element of magic in every Relais & Châteaux property, a unique experience, each vastly different from the next, yet all capture the distinct features of the place they reside. While there are far too many incredible accommodations within the R&C family to be able to touch on them all, we invite you to dive into these select highlights of breathtaking suites and cabins found across R&C's North American properties.
Auberge du Soleil: Cannes and Monaco
Napa Valley’s quintessential adult getaway, Auberge du Soleil, presents indulgent accommodations with their two 1,800 square foot Private Maisons, Cannes and Monaco. Located in the most secluded area of the property, the two free-standing, two-bedroom, two-bath specialty suites offer unobstructed views of lush vineyards and the Mayacamas Mountains. Featuring an outdoor soaking tub and rain shower, guests will be greeted with a warm welcome in the shape of a chilled bottle of Dom Perignon and a full bar with wine, premium spirits, and mixers available at the guests’ disposal.
Sonora: Sea Lion Pointe House
A 10,935 square foot private villa nestled on its own peninsula in the pristine British Columbian wilderness, the Sea Lion Pointe House at Sonora Resort houses one of the largest commissions of BC art: every one of its four suites contains custom pieces, each drawing inspiration from one of the seasons. This suite also includes a baby grand piano in the Great Room as well as a see-through gas fireplace spanning half the room, a wet bar and custom chef’s kitchen with private catering available, both indoor and outdoor dining spaces, a rooftop hot tub for stargazing, a billiards room and home theatre, and a nanny suite.
Wickaninnish Inn: Canopy Suite
Situated high up in the forest canopy on the top floor of the Inn’s On the Beach Building, we would be remiss, not to mention our very own Canopy Suite. This spacious suite offers the most expansive beach and ocean views from any room or suite at the Wickaninnish Inn. With floor-to-ceiling windows stretching across the room and a stunning view of Chesterman Beach all to yourself, in this 900 square feet suite, you’ll be treated to a full wet bar, a fireplace, a private balcony to soak up the salty morning freeze, and a bathroom fitted with a multi-jet shower for two and a lavish double-soaker bathtub. This breathtaking suite is decorated with a handmade, four-poster king-size bed. Over the bed, a fibre optic starlight ceiling peaks through the natural branch overlay as if peering through the forest into the night sky.
Manoir Hovey: The Heron Suite
Perched atop a ridge overlooking the Manor and offering enchanting panoramic lake and forest views, the 1400 square foot Heron Suite at Manoir Hovey in North Hatley, Quebec, is equipped with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, two fireplaces, a hot tub, and private in-ground heated pool. The suite boasts a private lighted stairway down the bluff to the main entrance of the Manoir and its own landscaped grounds.
Dunton Hot Springs: Well House
Dunton Hot Springs is a romantic 1800s ghost town tucked away in a beautiful alpine valley, with sturdy, hand-hewn, and remarkably restored cabins full of unique artifacts and furnishings. Of particular note is their Well House, the only accommodation at the resort to be built around a small, on-demand hot spring, making the spacious en-suite stone tub featuring water sourced directly from the spring a significant highlight of the cabin. You’ll find a cold plunge close at hand here for a full rejuvenating experience.
