Stacey McWatters, originally from Whitby, Ontario, began her journey in hospitality after leaving behind a 10-year career in accounting. Her passion for creating unforgettable experiences was sparked while working at the Post Hotel Spa in Lake Louise. In pursuit of a milder climate better suited to her passions, Stacey left the mountains and found her way to our coastal town. After joining our spa team as a Coordinator in 2022, she quickly progressed to Lead Coordinator and now excels as the Ancient Cedars Spa Leader.

A problem-solver and multi-tasker, Stacey maintains the motto that “everything is fixable and figureoutable”, fostering a supportive and harmonious team dynamic. She loves working alongside her colleagues at the Inn, and their shared commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences continually inspires her. “I love looking for ways to make magical moments for guests,” she explains, “often taking a tiny golden nugget of information and creating a moment where they have no idea how we knew that would make them happy.”

Stacey finds joy in seeing her team grow each day, and growing alongside them. She cherishes the unique qualities of each person and the close relationship she maintains with every member of her team. “The spa is its own mini family inside of a giant family at the Wick,” she continues, “Everyone has each other's backs, and we treat each other with respect and want the others to be happy and having a great day. I love lifting each other up.”

As with many others who find themselves in our coastal haven, it was the ocean and incredible landscape that drew Stacey here. Outside of her time in the spa, you’ll most likely find her catching a wave whenever possible, strolling the beach, or enjoying a bonfire during the off-season. She believes in the importance of embracing nature and spending time outside, rain or shine, and feels a deep connection to the local community's shared ethos of preserving the local environment and wildlife.

Stacey offers a piece of advice for anyone contemplating making a significant move and working at the Inn: “Take the leap. If you are nervous about moving cities, provinces, or even countries. Do it. It was the greatest decision I have made to move to a small ocean-side town at one of the nicest properties I have ever set foot on, to be surrounded by the most welcoming friends and family.”
